BAFA introduces new electronic issuing of permits in foreign trade law

On 29th January 2021, Germany’s ‘Bundesamt für Wirtschaft und Ausfuhrkontrolle’ (BAFA) announced that starting on 1st March 2021, permits, null notifications, notifications changes, information and extensions in the field of foreign trade law will be issued electronically. Also at this time, sending notices in paper form will be discontinued. However, export permits for temporary, repeated exports (export type 231), transit permits, re-export approvals, rejections and objection notices will continue to be in paper form.
