U.S. imposes further sanctions on Iran
On 10th January 2020, the U.S. President issued a new Executive Order (E.O) entitle “Imposing Sanctions With Respect to Additional Sectors of Iran.” This E.O. authorizes sanctions against new sectors of the Iranian economy, including construction, mining, manufacturing, and textiles. Additionally, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) updated its Specially Designated Nationals List (SDN list) by designating senior Iranian regime officials and Iranian steel, aluminum, copper, and iron manufacturers.
