US fully reinstates Iran sanctions
The US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has re-implemented the remaining US nuclear-related sanctions that were previously lifted or waived as part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). More than 700 individuals, businesses, aircraft, and ships have been sanctioned, bringing the total of Iran-related sanctions to more than 900.
Additionally, OFAC has deleted Executive Order (E.O.) 13599 as part of its withdrawal from the JCPOA. Individuals previously listed on E.O. 13599 have now been moved to the list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (“SDN List”).
These sanctions are effective on 5 November 2018.
